Milan came into branch care via one of the inspectors. He is enjoying life in his new home and his fosterers have told us that, before having to take it easy following his operation, he loved to nothing more than running and chasing a ball or even picking up the odd dead bird he came across and throwing it around. Stealing shoes and and tearing up paper are a popular pastime, in fact he is still very much a puppy as he is just 1 year old.
Milan is house trained and is learning that excited puppy nipping isn’t the way to play with humans. As a result we are looking for an active family with or without older children of high school age. Despite his fragile appearance Milan is all sight hound and thinks he can take the rough with the smooth. He still pulls to get to the next stinky smell. A home with a large well fenced garden where he can run off some of his energy would suit him most. His recall is typical sight hound, ie ” I know what “here” means but I will come to you when I have done another lap of the field”. Milan simply cannot be left alone as he suffers terribly from separation anxiety so we are looking for a family where there is someone at home all the time at first, and is willing to take gentle steps to reassure him that he won’t be left for long hours.
He gets on well with other dogs and would probably be much happier with an older dog who is not too old to enjoy playing and running with him and sharing a sofa.
