Brodie – our longest stay dog – Rehomed

[singlepic id=5141 w=320 h=240 float=left]Brodie is approximately 5 years old and a crossbreed and came to us to find a new home in November.   Brodie has come to us from another rescue and knows how to give a high five and the odd kiss. Best of all he loves to play football as you can see from his photo below and he is looking forward to being given a brand new unbursted football of his very own when he goes to live with his new family.

He is currently living with a foster family and they have found that he is a lovely house dog, very clean and quiet in the home.   This is what his fosterers say about Brodie:

“Brodie is an absolutely great dog around the house and garden and such a loving dog, if he can he will climb up on you and lie across you on the sofa like a big puppy.  He is fully house trained and lets you know when he wants the garden or the walk.   He is a really loving comical dog and would make someone a great companion.   I would advise teenagers in the new home and not young children, I say this because we haven’t seen him with young children.

He is a very intelligent dog and very rarely barks he will run to the letter box if mail comes through the door and can be protective until you introduce him to visitors but soon settles down and will then lie on his back to be stroked.

He is now good on the lead and will walk at the side, but will get a bit anxious when dogs are coming towards him but nowhere near as bad as he was when he first came to us, but I would recommend a bit more training may be at some classes.

He has now started to socialise with dogs whilst he is off the lead and would play all day if you let him. He loves to run ahead of you but I would recommend a bit more training for the recall, once he knows you, he will always come back but in his own time so training would be a good step.   He would be suited to a fit semi-retired couple who like long walks as Brodie does.

We can’t understand why he has not been ‘snapped up’ because he is a wonderful loyal dog and a joy to be around and he will be sorely missed by both myself and my wife as we have had him quite some time and he is getting attached to us both, he love’s playing football and retrieving sticks and he loves his walks.”
