[singlepic id=1279 w=320 h=240 float=left]Benson still lives with his family so I will let them tell you all about him.
“Benson needs a new home through no fault of his own. We are having to relocate to Dubai and feel it would be unfair of us to take him due to the heat and the necessity to travel back to the UK several times a year. He is a much-loved member of the family and it is breaking our hearts to have to let him go.
Benson is a large dog – a beautiful, loving Deerhound Lurcher (approx 2yo) who lives up to the typical preconception of the lurcher nature -40mph couch potato! He loves nothing more than a good run around the fields retrieving his ball followed by a long snooze (which generally lasts until his next walk!). He is always pleased to see you, loves his hugs and kisses and will happily play with both you and his toys when he has a little energy between naps! He very rarely barks, almost never in fact, so causes no problems with neighbours etc. He knows the basic commands (sit, lie down, wait etc) and learns new commands quickly so he would probably benefit from further training if desired. He has never damaged any furniture or decorations and he is house trained so no little surprises in the morning. He does not like cats and will chase them as well as squirrels etc but oddly has never bothered my two rabbits who are usually in an low, open topped run outside. Benson is easily controlled with his ball when off his lead on walks and won’t bother other dogs but he will snap at them if they come to him so we tend to put him on his lead when other dogs are off theirs. Our children (aged 10 and 12) adore Benson and he has settled in well with them but he is not very comfortable around children in general, he does get agitated. For this reason we think Benson would prefer a quiet household with older or (ideally) no children where he could happily snooze in-between walks and kisses!
Benson truly is an adorable, sweet, much loved member of our family and will be sorely missed”
