Freddy Shih Tzu (Rehomed)

[singlepic id=779 w=320 h=240 float=left]Freddy is a male Shih Tzu approximately 4 years old. His current owners have asked the branch to help find him a suitable home.

Freddy gave us a list to include in his write up:

  • I am a great little dog and I can be very loving. I do like to give plenty of cuddles and snuggles but only on my terms and with adults I trust.
  • I LOVE going on walks but I won’t pull you along on the lead, I walk nicely. I especially enjoy running on the open fields, that’s great fun!
  • I don’t mind cars at all – I often take long car journeys to a caravan for weekends.
  • I understand some of your human words and what to do when you say them. But I’d love to learn more, it makes me feel more bonded to you and want to cuddle you more. Please teach me 🙂
  • I like the company of other dogs and happy to meet, greet and play with those I meet outside. Sometimes I stay with a dog minder who has LOTS of other dogs at home and I don’t mind them either (as long as I have somewhere to go for peace and quiet).
  • I have no real health problems but please make sure my ears are kept trimmed and clean.
  • I was neutered last year.
  • What is a cat? I don’t really know what I think about those. Perhaps I can be introduced but I can’t promise anything.

History

Freddy was originally homed from a shelter after being found as a stray, so there is no known history of his first 3 years.

Freddy is a DINOS (Dog In Need Of Space) and has some trust and possession issues. This means he is wary of being approached/petted especially when he has a toy or chew. Freddy is particularly wary of children so it’s possible he hasn’t had positive experiences with them during his earlier years. Freddy seems to prefer women and will relax quicker around them but he will also accept men (especially now he’s realising the joys of play!)

Freddy’s uncertainty with children is the ONLY reason he is being rehomed. His current family love him dearly but they have a busy household with children and also lots of visiting children. They have made the sad decision to find Freddy a new home for his own well being. He will be much happier in a more suitable, quieter environment.

Freddy’s Ideal Home

Freddy really needs a home with someone who understands his needs and has  the patience and willingness to work with him and help him to learn to trust. Freddy’s new home MUST be child-free.

We know the right person/couple is out there ready to fall in love with Freddy who will love them back 100 times over.  Please get in touch if you would like to meet Freddy.
