[singlepic id=457 w=320 h=240 float=right]We received a lovely update from Mango’s adoptive family:
“We adopted Mango last September when he was 18 months old having just lost Bailey a much loved ginger tom to a sudden heart attack aged only 4. Mango was predicatably jumpy and a little wild. Keeping him in for the first weeks was the hardest part but he eventually gained his liberty and loves to explore his territory of gardens and woodland. We nearly lost him in November when he spent 3 nights caught in cage trap for foxes. The smell of the carrion bait must have been iresistable. Fortunately we found him before the snow and arctic temperatures arrived. So that was 1 life down and 8 to go.
A recent dive off the conservatory roof after venturing out of a bedroom window has since reduced this to 7 lives. He doesn’t wander so far now. He comes in at night when we call him although sometimes if the weather is good he will play hide and seek until we finally find him.
Mango is the most wonderful intelligent friendly and affectionate cat. He is a real character and an accomplished hunter. He has brought us mice and voles in abundance, 2 squirrels (one was a mean looking fully grown buck squirrel) and most recently, a mole. He has also had the occasional bird too despite wearing a bell.
He is a fully socialised member of the familly and we love having him. If you are thinking of adopting, go for it, it’s very rewarding.”
