Barney – home at last!

[nggallery id=47]Barney spent quite a long time in our care but has at last found the happy family home he so needed, where his adopters are prepared to work with him to overcome his traffic obsession (often found in Border Collies).

Hi all,
Just a line to keep you updated on Barney’s progress. He has settled with us really well and think he is now aware this is his home. He has some lovely country walks where he runs quite happily off the lead and now looks at us for his ball which he enjoys. He has once bolted from me when I walked him at the local park but I think the cause of this was a passing emergency ambulance, fortunatley we caught him safely. He walks much better on the lead when having some road socialising, and although is still watching traffic he continues walking which he gets praised for. We are also in touch with an Accredited Dog Trainer called Malcolm Nutbrown who I think we will be having a session with for him to see Barney and help us overcome this small problem. Anyway apart from that he’s FAB!! He has a great game of footy with the kids and a some rough and tumble with my mum’s border collie too. He is always happy for his bed and in fact he has slept well since the day he came. Anyway here are some pictures, we will send more when the sun shines!
